I had Hiyashi Chuka today 🎐✨
Hiyashi Chuka is a classic Japanese summer dish.
It’s made by chilling boiled Chinese-style noodles and topping them with colorful ingredients like cucumber, shredded egg, ham, tomato, and pickled vegetables, then drizzling a sweet and tangy soy-based sauce.
In some regions, sesame sauce or mayonnaise is also used.
It’s a light, refreshing, and well-balanced dish perfect for hot days.
During summer in Japan, it’s a popular menu item at home, in restaurants, and at convenience stores.
When I eat Hiyashi Chuka, it really feels like summer has arrived! ☀️
It’s crispy, chewy, sweet and sour, and so refreshing—it gives me energy!
This time, I used cucumber, egg, ham, pickled carrot, and tomato as toppings 🍅
I made the egg with dashi (Japanese soup stock) 😋
Today, the carrot was the star of the show 🥇
With lots of mayonnaise, the sweet and sour flavor was even better♪
I had Calpis Soda to drink 🥛🥤
